Hands sorting freshly picked olives

These are some of the last drops of
olive oil out of Gaza. Preserved to
raise funds for Palestinian farmers.
Seeds of hope, so we can regrow
what's been lost. And make sure
this harvest isn't the last.

الزيتون

Rescued from Gaza

A family in Gaza pressed olive oil from what
would become their last harvest. Weeks later,
their groves were destroyed. Refusing payment,
they gave it away as a gift, hoping it would carry
their story of persistence to the outside world.

A UN aid worker attempted to get it out of
Palestine in March 2025. But she was denied
exit at the border and the oil was confiscated
and destroyed. She tried again with the little
that remained, planning to smuggle it
unnoticed in sterilized shampoo bottles.

It worked. Now, this oil from trees that will
never again bear fruit, plants the seeds of a
hope that will never be extinguished.

Preserving the irreplaceable

This oil was never meant to be consumed, but
preserved. Five vessels were made to hold it,
designed by Palestinian artist Lameice Abu Aker
and each one handblown by local artisans.

Their shape echoes the oil bottles that have
always sat on Palestinian tables. Inside,
seed-shaped vials exhibit and protect the
precious drops above a base of burnt olive
wood. A symbol of destruction and regrowth.

Guardians of the groves

Olive grove in morning mist هوية

For Palestinian families the olive tree is identity.
Each one takes decades to mature, tended
across centuries by generation after generation.
That inheritance is now under threat.

Groves uprooted, harvests lost, families cut off
from the land their names are rooted in. The Last
Harvest is being auctioned to support these
Palestinian farmers.

These are their words.
