This policy explains what personal information Jenin (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit tastejenin.com, shop with us, take part in The Last Harvest, or contact us, and how we use and protect it. Jenin is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored encrypted, we can’t see it).
- Your orders: what you buy, delivery and billing addresses, the recipient’s name and mobile number, gift notes, and your order history.
- Sign in with Google: if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and a Google account ID with us. We don’t receive your Google password or access anything else in your Google account.
- Payments: card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are handled by our payment provider, Ziina, on their secure page. We never see or store your card details; we only receive whether the payment succeeded.
- The Last Harvest bids: if you place a bid, your name, mobile number, email, bid amount, preferred contact times and methods, and whether you want your bid shown anonymously.
- Back-in-stock alerts: your email address, if you ask us to tell you when a product is available again.
- Messages: what you send us by email or WhatsApp.
- How you use the site: pages visited, device and browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies (see below).
How we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders, including contacting you or the recipient about delivery.
- To run your account: saved addresses, order history and reordering.
- To manage The Last Harvest bids and contact you about your bid.
- To send you emails about your orders, and back-in-stock alerts you asked for.
- To send news and offers, only where you have agreed or where the law allows. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only what they need:
- Delivery partners, to deliver your order (name, address, mobile number).
- Ziina, to take payments.
- Google, for “Continue with Google” sign-in and Google Analytics (site usage statistics).
- Our hosting and email providers, who store the website and send our emails.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Your Last Harvest bid details stay with Jenin; we don’t share them with The Big Heart Foundation. Donations made through The Big Heart Foundation’s website are covered by their own privacy policy.
Cookies
We use cookies that the shop needs to work (your bag, signing in, checkout security) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) that help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block the essential ones, the bag and checkout won’t work.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, order and bid information in our records so we can serve you, look after your order history, and meet our tax and accounting obligations. We don’t delete it automatically.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see or correct your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing. You can update most details yourself in My Account. For anything else, email us at marhaba@tastejenin.com.
If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Jenin’s access at any time from your Google account settings (Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services).
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to serve you.
Children
Our shop is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
